The town of Rab, Rab Island
The town of Rab is a truly unique destination, with its medieval walls and four bell towers that make it instantly recognizable. The town’s streets and hidden places are just waiting to be explored with a wealth of cultural and historical treasures to discover:
- One of the most charming places to visit in Rab is Srednja street. As you walk through this historic street, you will come across Varoš square, which is a great place to take a break and soak up the atmosphere. From here you can climb the large stairs up to the fortress and the church of St. Christopher, the patron saint of Rab.
- The town of Rab is a true gem of medieval architecture surrounded by solid walls that date back to the 15th century. Many parts of the walls still stand today, providing a glimpse into the rich history of the town. The old town of Rab is dominated by four tall bell towers, which are mostly in the Romanesque style.
- The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the most significant landmarks in the town of Rab. This impressive cathedral was most likely built in the 4th century and later remodelled in the Romanesque style. Its interior is rich with highly valuable works of art, including intricate carvings, paintings and sculptures.
- The Benedictine monastery of St. Andrew is a true historical treasure of the town of Rab. Built in the 11th century, the monastery has been upgraded and renovated over time with numerous works of art, handicrafts and souvenirs on display. Today, the monastery is home to eight nuns who live and work there, continuing the long tradition of religious life at this sacred site.

Itinerary
- We begin our boat tour by departing from the town’s waterfront at 8:30 a.m., and sail toward the Zavratnica cove across the Velebit channel. Through the strait of Pag to the discovery of the unique karst landscape.
- After 60 minutes we reach the Zavratnica cove with about 2 hours of free time for swimming and sightseeing.
- Next – 30 minutes to the island and town of Rab where you have 2.5 hours of free time for sightseeing, lunch or leisure.
- We sail back to the island of Pag, where we plan to swim in the Svetojanjče cove for 30 minutes.
- 45 minutes later we’ll stop at Baška Slana beach.
- We return to the town of Pag at 6 p.m.
